Aberdares

Aberdare National Park is a spectacular highland protected area located in central Kenya, east of the Great Rift Valley and north of Nairobi. The park forms part of the Aberdare Mountain Range and is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, cool climate, dense forests, waterfalls, and rich biodiversity. Covering approximately 766 km², the park features a unique mix of ecosystems including bamboo forests, rainforests, moorlands, deep valleys, rivers, and alpine vegetation. Its high altitude, ranging from about 2,000 to over 4,000 meters above sea level, creates a refreshing environment that contrasts beautifully with Kenya’s savannah parks.
